Canada’s Supreme Court Hears Case on Ability to Suspend Constitutional Rights

The Supreme Court of Canada in Ottawa has devoted four days this week to hearings on the notwithstanding clause, which allows governments to pass laws that suspend rights in the Constitution’s Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
